Great RV travel can be had throughout the state of Arizona. The weather is a big draw for visitors; mild winters. The large number of National Parks and Recreation Areas provide a wide number of popular spots for RV travelers. Since July is National Parks and Recreation month Pedata RV Center is offering a list of top spots that RVers appreciate in Arizona.

RVers love AZ National Parks and Recreation Areas:

1. Grand Canyon: The Grand Canyon is located north of Flagstaff. Any tourist headed to Arizona has heard of the Grand Canyon. Almost every visitor headed to the US has heard of the Grand Canyon. It’s one of the natural wonders of the world. At one point it is 18 miles wide and it’s one mile deep. It’s the ultimate Arizona travel destination.

2. Glen Canyon National Rec. Area: This rec area offers over 1.2 million acres of back country and water based recreational activities. The area runs from Arizona (Lees Ferry) to Southern Utah (Orange Cliffs). It is known for its presentation of geologic wonders and gorgeous vistas.

3. Lake Mead National Recreation Area: This is a popular spot for RVers year round. RVers who are interested in boating, swimming and fishing are particularly pleased with this area. Additionally, this recreation area is also popular for wildlife/plant life photographers, hikers, sightseers, etc. Native desert plants and animals abound throughout the desert landscape.

4. Petrified Forest Nat. Park: This is one of the world’s largest collections of petrified wood. It’s also one of the most colorful. Views of the Painted Desert, native plant life, fossils (some over 200 million years old), historic structures and archeological sites all appeal to visitors on different levels.

5. Saguaro National Park: This park protects an impressive forest of saguaros. While saguaro cacti are the iconic symbol of the American West…they are actually only native in a very small region. In addition to the saguaros visitors love enjoying the gorgeous Arizona sunsets.

And the five listed above are in no way the only options in Arizona for avid RVers. RVers can take advantage of the many additional National Monuments, National Historic Trails and Parks. They are definitely a favorite. And there are so many that visitors and residents alike almost never run out of options.
