In the year 1952, at Yale University, researchers decided to do a survey on the graduating batch of students .They asked these batch of students this question, "How many of you have got your goals written down?"

In other words, "How many of you have actually designed your life in the next five, ten to fifteen years?" And out of all these students from Yale which is supposed to be an Ivy League school in the United States, only three percent of the students had their goals written down, they knew exactly what they wanted to do.

Are you committed to succeed? That's right. Think about that question. Are you committed to succeed?

Very often by asking people, How many of you are committed to succeed? Very often not many people put up their hands. Only a couple. But what I found out in life is this, in life only five percent of people I've met, are truly committed to get the results they want in life, and are truly committed to succeed.

NLP is basically a science of how you take charge of your life and how do you use the language of your mind to program your nervous system to consistently produce a fantastic result.

Before we begin, I want to say that it's been a privilege for myself and Stuart Tan, my partnering trainer, to have this opportunity to share with you the most powerful and relevant of tools of NLP, that have enabled us to create excellence in out own lives and the lives of many people

You see, we share one thing in common, that we came from the past where we were underperforming in virtually every area of our lives.

In the Ultimate Success Formula, we say that once you get clear on what you want, you have to develop a strategy and start taking action, consistent action every single day.

When you take action, what happens? Well, you will either achieve your goals, move towards your goals, or you get feed back, of which you will then use to change your strategy taking action again and again until you get what you want.

NLP first came about when these two gentlemen, Dr. Richard Bandler and Dr. John Grinder, decided to model people who were excellent in creating change in others.

More specifically, they wanted to model linguistic experts who could change people through speaking, through their words and therapies.

Through all their surveys and all their research, they found three people.

All of us have basically the same neurology. If it is possible for others, it is possible for me. In other words, all of us have basically the same hardware, the same number of neurons in our brain.

If someone is extremely good in being creative, so can you. You can generate the same ideas. The only thing is that you have to find out how do they mentally do it, what is their strategy.

If it is so easy to achieve success, set goals, create a strategy, take action; and if you don't get what you want, you just change your strategy until you get what you want. If that is all there is to succeed, why isn't everybody doing this?

There are three main reasons that drive us to go beyond our goals. There are three reasons that determine whether we would or not set these goals, whether we will or not change our strategy.

Look around and you can always find three kinds of people or there are three ways in which people deal with failure. Which category do you fall under?

The first group of people when they experience failure they look at it and say, "You know I fail because I'm not good enough." "I failed because it was just too difficult!" and they begin to make excuses, they begin to blame everyone except themselves, they start complaining, and guess what, they would give up.

Have you ever experienced the state of procrastination? All of us have one time or another! Procrastination is the number one killer of success.

It is the single most common state that keeps people from taking action Knowing that there is an important task at hand, you keep putting it off.

Have you ever had to start work on a project but kept doing everything else that would delay you in getting started? You cleaned your desk, got a drink of water, checked your emails, walked around and finally said, 'I think I will do it tomorrow!'

Has there been another time when you felt totally motivated in getting started on a project? A time when you just sat down and got it done immediately?

I believe we are aware that this situation rarely happens, never happening in times when we need to get something done.

All of us have got dreams we aspire to attain in our lives. These dreams come from people who inspire us. We may dream of making $20,000 a month, owning a luxury-y car and living in a million dollar mansion. At the same time, based on our beliefs, we also have what I call a 'level of acceptance'.

This 'level of acceptance' means that though you may aspire to earn $20,000 a month, you are willing to accept earning $3000 a month.
