Soft Sell with Content

Content sites are a great way to increase conversion and sales. Over the last year I have watched traffic on a dozen sites climb higher and higher as content is added.

Generally, browsers don't go straight for the online store and pull out their credit card. Sometimes they do, which is great, but usually browsers want to see a little bit more of whom you are and what you are doing before they trust you enough to buy from you.

Content Is Still King

There is a debate raging in the online world about content and search engine optimization (SEO). One side is fairly certain that the old way of doing things, SEO, is being replaced for good by free online information that is designed to capture a prospects email address with a free offer or a set of links to products. That side is sure that content is the most valuable aspect that will convert browsers to customers.
