British Transport Police (BTP) said the deaths of Colleen O’Connor and
64-year-old Barney O’Connor in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, are not being
treated as suspicious.
The apparent suicides happened near Husum Way, on the eastern outskirts of
Mr O’Connor, from Halesowen, West Midlands, died after being struck by a train
at about 6.30pm on Thursday last week.
The BTP spokesman said: “Neither death is being treated as suspicious and
inquests have been opened and adjourned at Redditch Coroners’ Court.

In a statement issued by BTP, family members said both Mr and Miss O’Connor
would be sadly missed.
The statement read: “We have been devastated by this double tragedy and the
family is rallying round to support each other.
“Both Barney and Colleen will be sadly missed by the entire family and we
would ask that the media allows us grieve collectively in private at this
extremely difficult and emotional time.”
