Difference Between Combination And Condensing Grand Prairie Boilers

The annual boiler service is a very important job that is best done in the warmer months of the year, but did you know around 90% of us never have the boiler serviced. The boiler for some reason seems to get forgotten until something happens, you go to have a shower and find you have no hot water. Then you start to panic trying to find someone to repair the Grand Prairie Boilers.

Combination boilers: These are the boilers which provide heat without a use of any hot water tank. They don’t require any water tank in your store room, which save lots of space in your house. Basically, combination heaters are those planted on walls, which can be placed on any wall in your home. They occupy very less space in your house. They can be fitted in your kitchen cupboards.

The good thing now though is that all new heaters are highly efficient condensing heaters and they should save you somewhere around 35% on your fuels bills, that’s a big saving, compared to the old heaters. So when it comes to replacing your boiler you will start to save on the running costs. Today there are many types of heaters to choose from, you have heat only heaters, which are open vented, where you still keep the small tank in the loft, the water is still heated via a storage tank.

All condensing boilers have a condense trap built in, this needs to be cleaned out and checked for leakage it’s also part of the boilers flue system. When the boiler is running the water it produces cleans the combustion chamber of any residue and this ends up in the trap. With many boilers of today they work under high pressure and have an expansion vessel connected to the pipe work, this can be either internally or externally.

Even with many advantages there are some disadvantages, they are: Combination heaters are not suitable for house with more that 2 or more bathrooms, they are more expensive when compared to other heating heaters, another major disadvantage is that: when 2 taps are opened then the water flow drops which may annoy you.

When the boiler is working for both heating and hot water, the hot water will take priority over the heating; as soon as no more hot water is required the heating will come back on. These boilers were originally designed for small properties like flats, but soon everybody wanted one fitted without understanding how they work.

Part of the annual boiler service is to check the boiler combustion rate. This is to make sure the boiler is burning gas as it was designed for, this is carried out using a flue gas analyzer which is inserted into the flue-pipe and a reading is taken, if the readings are within the heaters recommendations then no further action is required, but if the readings are out of the recommendations then further investigations are needed to find the problem.

Condensing Combination heaters: Condensing combination boiler is mixer of condensing and combination heaters. It uses the both technologies of condensing and combination becoming the most energy efficient heaters in the market at the moment. They do not require any hot water tank or cylinder like condensing heaters. But the mail disadvantage of using them is its price. They are more expensive than condensing heaters.
