What are the Types of Social Enterprises?
Social purpose businesses — nonprofit, for-profit, a public/private or some combination of the three. These businesses can be new or derived from an existing program: quot;Affirmative” businesses designed specifically to provide permanent jobs for people who are disadvantaged, Mission-driven product or service businesses delivering services directly to their users, for example, housing and food services for program clients.You may view these positions by visiting our office located in the Human Development Building, Suite 200, and on our website, . By calling our Job Hotline at students can access the listings of jobs that are off-campus. Students on the Dallas campus may call and students on the Houston campus may call to access the listings. Effective January 2005, the Job Hotline will be discontinued.There has been tremendous growth in this industry over the last several years.

What other jobs are available for students on campus?
There are many jobs available on campus outside of the AMS. If you are part of the Work Study program, there is a list of available positions on the Career Services website. Career Services also has a part-time job search listing which is available to all students. Popular on-campus employers include Queens University Athletics & Recreation ( Campus Security (Communities increase their stock of job-ready individuals, thereby bolstering both individual self-sufficiency and private-sector economic development efforts. At the same time, the work performed by participants in public job creation programs can address a broad range of community needs, providing valuable services and improving the quality of life for the entire community.There has been tremendous growth in this industry over the last several years.

How can my son/daughter get a part-time job, especially on campus?
Students can register with the Career Center and then access part-time job listings at any time via the Career Center website. Students will need their HSU email address to register and access the job listings posted on-line. Career Center staff actively solicit job openings from employers in the community. Most jobs on campus are “work study” jobs, and students are eligible for these positions only through a work-study award through the Financial Aid Office.It does not try to control its members. It is completely voluntary. A.A. does not: keep membership records or case histories.engage in or support research.. join councils or social agencies (although A.A. members, groups and service offices frequently cooperate with them).. follow up or try to control its members.. .make medical or psychiatric prognoses or dispense medicines or psychiatric advice.. .provide drying-out or nursing services or sanitariums..

Can students work on campus?
Absolutely and on-campus jobs pay $10 an hour! Check out the Campus Employment section of the Financial Aid website for information on work study options. Finding a job if you are not eligible for work study is more difficult, but you should try these offices: the recreation center, academic departments, Aramark Food Services, and much more.
