Maybe it’s due to my own high school career at a small, Catholic school on the East Coast, but I loved Rockstar’s Bully. Expanding the open-world concept to explore the strange twilight world of adolescence was a minor stroke of genius, so it’s nice to know they might be working on a sequel.
Bully 2 was mentioned, briefly, in an interview with game composer Shawn Lee. The Gaming Liberty asked: "So far you’ve worked on two games, The Getaway and Bully, would you be open to composing for other games in the future?" Lee answered, “Yes. It looks like I will be doing the soundtrack for Bully 2 in the not so distant future."
If a Bully 2 actually comes together, will it be a "true" sequel? With the same main character going off to college? Or are we talking more of a re-boot — still set in a boarding school, with a new crop of students. I gotta imagine (and hope) it’s the latter. College is cool and all, but doesn’t offer the same frustrations and pressures that made Bully such an interesting little game. I mean, when you’re paying to be educated you don’t really have the same relationship to authority that you have when you’re forced to be somewhere.
