There’s no extensive experience required, but what is important is that you’re in good physical shape, and have the right attitude. Do I need kayaking experience? If not, how difficult is it to do? No kayaking experience is required. It is recommended that you are in good health. This is an outdoor adventure that requires exercise! We only paddle between 2-4 hours a day with several stops for lunch and/or snorkeling. More avid paddlers can go for more strenuous paddles from our campsites. You will receive basic instruction on how to paddle your kayak. Our motorized escort boat will carry all of your baggage and supplies not needed for the day of paddling.Answer – We have a large fleet of high quality traditional sea kayaks. We have both single and two-person kayaks in a variety of sizes to suit guests of all sizes. Your comfort is very important to us. Supplying you with a proper fitting boat increases your comfort factor tremendously. We also have high quality lightweight paddles.

How much previous kayaking experience do I need? None! Previous experience with whitewater, touring, or sprint kayaking makes the learning curve a little faster, but is not necessary. We’re happy to teach you what you need to know. If you’re a new player, please let us know if you plan to come to practice so that we can have someone available to teach you (and can supply gear if necessary). Can I go sea kayaking? Yes you can rent sea kayaks by the hour or the day for use along the front side of the island. But for a real adventure, join a small group for a tour of the lagoons of the backside, where you will see herons, egrets, schools of bonefish, orchids while you meander through tunnels in the mangroves. Some are lucky enough to spot the elusive saltwater crocodile.
