One has to follow the guidelines and process set for the retrieval of any of the public document of the state. Certain fees have to be paid in order to get a copy of the document needed. Requesting for any of the family related files would not cost beyond $20 while a criminal records search would not go beyond $50. One has to be able to provide the basic information of the record that is being requested in order to proceed with the search. Also, the one who request for the document has to be able to provide their contact details which will be used for the documentation procedure. A court order is needed if one would request for the record of other people.
The office of the Vital Records Section is where the family related files of the state can be requested. These documents are also accessible at the office of the county clerk. The Department of Public Safety is where one can request for criminal records of the state. The Internet is now used as one of the mediums in obtaining a copy f any of the public documents of the state.
