Amir Sadollah got a nice pop. He came in VERY light at 166.5 lbs.

The new Octagon girl Natasha was there. If you haven’t heard ring girl Edith Labelle is no longer with the UFC.

Tomorrow, Saturday the 8th August, with UFC 101: “Declaration”, the first UFC event held in Pennsylvania. In the historic boxing matches for Philadelphia, it is known to two exciting duels, the other nine schedules far in the shade are: BJ Penn vs. And Kenny Florian vs. Anderson Silva. Forrest Griffin.

After the lost against the Super Fight Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre returns to the Lightweight Champion BJ Penn (13-5-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) in his weight class incumbent back to his title against challenger Kenny Florian (11-3 MMA , 9-2 UFC) to defend. Even the most entrenched fans of Penn must admit that the 30-year-old Hawaiians by GSP in January regelrecht was taken apart. According to him this very disappointing defeat on Saturday may be assumed that a motivated Penn is in the Octagon, the memory of this failure with an impressive victory will make us forget.

Since his return to the UFC two years ago, Penn has dominated the lightweight. Jens powder and Joe Stevenson, he brought into the second round with a Rear Naked Choke to the task, the former champion Sean Sherk defeated it after the third round by TKO. But Florian was not idle: The 33-year-old is traveling with six victories in a row to Philadelphia. Florian is one of the fighters who are in the last few years have improved the most. Since the defeat in the “TUF 1″-finals against Diego Sanchez Florian won nine out of ten fights, eight of them prematurely. Only he had to Sean Sherk in October 2006 in a battle for the then vacant lightweight title after five rounds to beat.

The “TUF 1″ finalist-turned under the leadership of Mark Della Grotte (Sityodtong Boston) from black-dimensional BJJ into a versatile MMA fighter with an excellent condition. On the ground, he is equally with Ground & Pound and handles dangerous task, in the state he works with a lot of kicks. Although Florian in the struggle has improved significantly, however, must be questioned, Penn that he will bring to the ground. Due to its incredible balance and flexibility is one Penns defense against takedowns on the best in the entire MMA sport.

While Florian prefers the Muay Thai, Penn is a great supporter of boxing. His lightning-fast Florian Jab could be a problem, the attempt is likely, given his condition improved one point victory specified by providing a weary Penn in rounds three to five in the state auspunktet. An early victory by Florian is difficult to imagine – the one he still has not ausgeknockt other Penn was still nobody ausgeknockt. Florian is also razor sharp elbows could be against Penn, apart from the GSP fight fairly immune to cuts is proving as useless.

As much as Florian in recent years has improved – Penn is on him to set an example that he, despite the defeat against one of the world’s best fighter in GSP is still a power in the lightweight is.

The Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva (24-4 MMA, 9-0 UFC) has in the past three years, virtually his entire weight class is cleared. The challengers came and went and Silva did not all of them the slightest chance. As he gradually opponents out, is the Brazilians Halbschwergewicht try again, until the UFC a new challenger to his middleweight title has found.

In search of an opponent who can demand and Silva does not like his last opponent, Patrick Côté and Thales Leites, tries to avoid the fight, the UFC with Forrest Griffin (16-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) found. The former Halbschwergewichtschampion and winner of the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter” is known, in no matter how big challenge zurückzuschrecken. Contrary to all expectations Griffin was with the former PRIDE star Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson finished – why should he not also surprising Silva can defeat? Griffin says, at least.

Silva is currently one of the best fighters and one of the best Striker in the world. Its Muay Thai is as precise as a Swiss watch, particularly highlighted by precision, light-footwork and excellent technique. The 34-year-old attacked his opponents either from a distance with lightning-fast, versatile blow hard kicks and combinations, or from the vicinity of his most feared weapon, the Thai Clinch. Silva’s knee joints and elbow strikes have been a number of other fighters visits to plastic surgeons eingebrockt. The state has in the UFC so far every opponent beating him with a plugged.

It will be interesting to see how Silva with the strength and mass of Griffin, who is a huge Halbschwergewicht, will cope. Griffin Brawl than wild times are over. Today he is fighting tactically wise from a distance and cut his opponents with Lowkick and kicks to the body, which he prepared with stroke combinations or terminate. Striking a contest against Silva Griffin will probably still not win. Rather, he should be healing on the mat, where Silva is far less menacing. Silva is a black in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has, thanks to his long, thin legs a dangerous Guard, but Griffin could be him on the ground because of its physical attributes quite a while from the upper position to control and edit with blows.

One point from victory Griffin would imagine. But when Silva made his announcement is true, his critics lies to punish, is the crowd favorite with the huge fighter’s heart a painful night before.

At the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ denied Amir Sadollah (1-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) his first and so far only professional fight. He forced CB Dollaway in the first round with a Armhebel the task to ‘TUF 7′ to win. Since it was quiet around the eternal underdog, a black belt in Sambo holds. Only he was injured, then sick and then injured. At UFC 101 should Sadollah now his first “real” fight in the UFC deny they change this from the middle weight to Welter weight.

As an opponent he is unbeaten Johny Hendricks (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) against which in the weight class merging with World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) his way into the UFC found. On paper is Hendricks, the team around his UFC Takedown colleagues Jake Rosholt belongs, one of the best wrestler in the Welter weight. During his time at the College he was twice champion in the Division I – a higher success can be seen as wrestling on the college does not reach.

However, shares Hendricks loved to shock and uses his great skill rings usually only when he has been unsuccessful in the booth is. Sadollah contrary, it could come back, because the ‘TUF 7′ winner is a very experienced Thai boxing, the Hendricks with his kicks and knee joints could well add. On the ground Sadollah is very resilient – something he can plug it in and wait patiently until his opponent make a mistake, which he handles a task can exploit. It will be interesting to see what form it after this long break is located.

For the “TUF 3″ winner Kendall Grove (10-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) did it last year after two poor defeats, first against Patrick Côté and Jorge Rivera almost as if he should look for a new employer around. But in his subsequent victories against Evan Tanner and Jason Day was the tree long Hawaiians again focused and made clear that it is too early to turn it off completely.

Against the ground combat specialist Ricardo Almeida (10-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will show whether the “new and improved” Grove is capable, in the upper ranks in the middle weight mitzumischen. Almeida returned last year after four years break to active MMA Done back and suffered a bit at the beginning of ring rust. But with his victory over Matt Horwich in April this year, he presented again in solid form.

Remarkable was that the BJJ black-who trained under Renzo Gracie, boxing significantly improved. Against the almost two-meter Grove, it would be advisable, however, not exactly long in the state to stay, despite the defensive in this distance is inadequate. Groves incredibly wide reach is very difficult to circumvent and his knee joints are not to be underestimated. Rather Almeida is expected to return to its roots and the fight on the mat relocate. There are the long limbs of Grove wonderfully for various leverage techniques.

A debate that so far little attention, but the potential “best fight of the evening”, is the clash between the dynamic lightweights Josh Neer (25-7-1 MMA, 4-4 UFC) and Kurt Pellegrino (13-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC). Neer has since his return to the UFC last year, consistently good performances – victory over Mac Danzig and Din Thomas is a very narrow defeat at the hands of Nate Diaz over. Pellegrino, a former wrestler with a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, last defeated Rob Emerson and Thiago Tavares. Presumably he rings his entrepreneurial skills to Neer Power and its advantages in Striking to neutralize. The audience is also looking forward once again the classic “vs. Striker. Grappler “duel.

Jung Bung meets veterans, Part Two: After the first debate between BJ Penn’s training partner Shane Nelson (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Aaron Riley (27-11-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC) ended in controversy, was for tomorrow’s Saturday fight back used. At UFC 96 in March, the referee after 44 seconds in between – much too early, most observers thought. Nelson and Riley are Lilagurte in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but they prefer the Ultimate Kickboxing in standard Riley, a former Golden Gloves boxing champion, has in this area, the slight advantage.

In the battle of physical opposites stand Tamdan McCrory (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and John Howard (11-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) against. McCrory is tall and slender, while Howard is small and sturdy. Integer 23 centimeters between the two. Howard, in his UFC debut surprisingly defeated Chris Wilson, is not only a solid ground fighters, but also a powerful boxer. But it is probably assumed that he had the fight on the mat will be looking to the enormous size and reach advantage to escape from McCrory.

After his poor performance in the middle weight title fight against Anderson Silva has Thales Leites (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the eyes of many UFC fans and some well. Since it comes Sakar? Alessio (13-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) as the opponent just right. The Italian is Leites as the body perfectly – as the BJJ black-on his last victory with Drew McFedries also a powerful boxer in the shortest time to disappear.

In just three professional fights, they are all in the UFC denied that the “TUF 7″ participant Matt Riddle (2-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and Dan Cramer (1-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) . These are not their only commonality. The two 23-year-old came through the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for MMA sports and then focus more on their skills in boxing. The fans should probably on a long three rounds of blows happy – unless Riddle remembers that he had at the college, a very strong wrestler was.

About a year after his last fight, the injury plagued George Sotiropoulos (9-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) finally officially change into its lightweight celebrate. As an opponent, the “TUF 8″ participant George Roop (9-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) ready. Sotiropoulos succeeded in “The Ultimate Fighter 6″ to the semis. Then the trained BJJ-black in his “TUF” coach Matt Serra, meanwhile prepares himself but at Xtreme Couture for his fights before. Roop took the fight with only two weeks preparation time, as Rob Emerson had to cancel due to injury.

Alongside Johny Hendricks UFC debut at 101 Welter two other weights, the World Extreme Cagefighting were: Jesse Lennox (10-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Danillo Villefort (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Between them there is an interesting style clash. Lennox, which is lower than the MFS veterans Pat Miletich trained, is a wrestler, Villefort has black belt in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Brazilian was the martial arts in the cradle: His father is a well-known Vale Tudo fighters and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is his godfather.
