Unfolding the Spirit by Vedic Astrology

It is astrology to note that there are not two similar human beings (even the twins behave differently). Everyone is curious to know the factors that are responsible for these dissimilarities.
Psychologists and psychiatrists can understand the defects and behavior of the human being only when certain manifestations are observed and communicated to them. The competent astrologers and the best astrologers can predict what type of manifestations can occur. This is done by studying the planets at the time of birth and their transits in the later period of life. To this end, Westerners turn to the progressed horoscopes where as Indian astrologers study meticulously the Dasa – Antardasa mechanism of various planets. This is the only Indian system that can help to indicate events in the broader lines of life and also longevity.

Best astrologer in India can also predict the different types of diseases a subject is likely to suffer. These facilities are not available with scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists and doctors. No doctor on this earth can tell exactly the type of illness that a newborn is likely to suffer in the near future. Astrology can really help us in this area and if we take some preventive measures we can avoid (or at least minimize its effects) many dangerous diseases. Doctors, psychologists do not understand the cause of mental disorders. From the astrological point of view, these diseases must be considered mainly from the affliction of Lagna, the fourth house (Sukha Sthana), the 5th house (intelligence), the moon (spirit) and Mercury (symbol of the intelligence). If a powerful affliction of Mercury or Lagna or the Moon comes into contact with Rahu, one can be sure that no medical treatment would be useful. Indeed, the current level of astrological knowledge does not allow us to determine whether madness (melancholia, mania, hysteria, epilepsy, schizophrenia, amnesia, idiocy, perversion, obsession and madness) is due to a mental or cerebral disorder. In this article, I will now describe how astrology can help us understand the inner structure of the mind and human nature.

Mind

The spirit according to oxford dictionary means the seat of consciousness by will and feeling. This seat is located in the brain. The brain and mind is not identical, but not unrelated. In fact, they are closely linked. In the human body, the brain acts as the controller while the other organs, feeling, will, and so on. The mind is divided into four great divisions: the Super Conscious mind (9th house); Unconscious (6th house); Subconscious (8th house) and conscious mind (1st house) or alert spirit (3rd house). Negative part of the super conscious mind is the inferior mind.

My research has revealed that when the inferior mind is well developed (ie in the case of criminals) the faculty of super intelligence is not enriched.

The conscious mind works while we are awake. But the subconscious mind works during both, the awakened and sleepy position. In the awakened position, the functioning of the subconscious is guided and corrected by the conscious mind. The conscious mind can act; she can evoke memory when she wants; It can actively think towards a certain goal.

It is estimated that the amount that can be stored in the subconscious mind is much more often than in the conscious mind. The mind stores layers on layers of thought in its subconscious mind. The unfulfilled desires are buried here. They live in day dreams, night dreams, nightmares, fears, intensified fears or phobia. In fact, in popular language, the conscious mind in relation to the subconscious is often tied to the iceberg – the part of ice-berg not in the sea representing the conscious mind and the hidden part of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind can also store signals, sounds, emotions and impressions; but even if it is not active as the conscious mind, the subconscious mind can play a big role in a person’s thinking and behavior.

Many psychiatrists believe that the impression formed and stored in the subconscious mind during its early years – from birth to about five years – determine the action of a person for the rest of his life. During these early times, the mind is not just like a computer storing everything visual. These first stored impressions play a big role in a person’s action in his late life.

It is for this reason that parents must give social attention to the education of their children during the first years of their lives.

Much of the work of psychoanalysis is concerned with the subconscious mind, because by studying the subconscious mind, they are able to get behind the reason of their patient’s behavior. While the study of the subconscious mind (dream analysis provides vital clues to the subconscious mind) is up to a relatively new field of research, there are strong indications to suggest that in the future, The actions and behavior of a man can be detected and improved by having a better knowledge of the subconscious.

When a person has to get up early in the morning, the awakening time is kept in the subconscious mind, and when the time comes the person wakes up exactly at the right time. The conscious mind is clearly asleep, but the subconscious mind is on the job. The exact relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind is still unclear and an enormous amount of work remains to be done on this very important and interesting subject.

At the conscious level, the mind has a sense of ego. The mind also works on a higher plane. Super consciousness is a situation where the feeling of egoism is totally absent and it moves to a state of Samadhi. The super conscious plane of the spirit is the mind in its pure state. In a sense, it is identical to Atman. Sri Ramakrishna said, ‘What is pure mind, is also pure buddhi (intelligece) which is still pure atman (spirit)’. The subconscious, unconscious and conscious mind can be controlled by yoga or meditation.

Preliminary yoga techniques like Yama, Niyama and Pranayam can generate a higher level of consciousness by removing impurity and reinforcing an unnecessary. Yoga exercises not only release a large amount of bound energy, but lead to emotional and mental relaxation. It gives us a better control of our body and mind. Every movement and every object of Yoga is completely natural, designed solely for the development of human potential. It brings discipline and controls the mind and body towards health and happiness. If the spirit is unclean, make sure that your acts will be unclean and that suffering will be there. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the mind and the body be kept pure.

Through meditation, the psychic centers or Chakras are open. The Muladhar Chakra is the seat of the unconscious, and the Swadhishtana Chakra is the seat of the subconscious. In meditation, all these past Karmas and experience become accessible. The continuous practice of the mantra purifies and dissolves the Karmas. Super consciousness can be achieved by people who have controlled their minds at the other three levels.
